Science Museum

The Science Museum in London is an exciting, hands-on exploration of scientific discovery, featuring exhibits that span centuries and showcase innovations in technology, engineering, medicine, space, and more. A visit can encompass several stops to bring the stories from these amazing exhibits to life.
The Making the Modern World exhibition showcases iconic inventions that have transformed society. We’ll see the original Stephenson's Rocket (one of the first steam locomotives), a Model T Ford, and even the Apollo 10 Command Module that went around the moon. This exhibit sets the stage by highlighting humanity's most significant technological milestones.
We can head to the Exploring Space gallery, to marvel at rockets, satellites, and a full-size replica of the Eagle Lander from the Apollo missions.
Medicine: The Wellcome Galleries is the the largest medical exhibit in the world. Here we’ll see an 18th-century pharmacy reconstruction, displays on DNA research, early x-ray machines, and some of the earliest surgical instruments.
The Flight Gallery at the Science Museum is a fascinating exhibit dedicated to the history and marvels of aviation. Located on the third floor, it showcases over a century of flight innovation, with actual aircraft suspended from the ceiling in an awe-inspiring display. Highlights include the world's first jet engine, a full-size Spitfire, and Amy Johnson's Gipsy Moth, which she famously flew solo from England to Australia in 1930. The gallery covers everything from the early days of flight with replicas of the Wright brothers' gliders to modern jet technology.
